March 31st 2025: When musicians Wang Chao and Jin Ying established SSGY Studio, they selected a combination of the Harrison 32Classic analogue mixing console and Prism Sound DREAM-ADA audio converters, setting a new technical standard for professional recording systems that has drawn widespread industry attention.

Renowned music producer, composer, and guitarist Wang Chao and senior recording, mixing, and live sound engineer Jin Ying have been a golden creative partnership for over two decades, crafting numerous hit musical works. After acquiring China’s first Harrison 32Classic console, selecting appropriate audio interfaces for their new SSGY Studio became a critical decision. After evaluating all leading high-end converter options, they ultimately chose Prism Sound DREAM-ADA.

Celebrating 37 years of audio excellence, Prism Sound is revered for its high-grade audio equipment renowned for exceptional resolution. Their iconic converters, such as the AD-2, DA-2, ADA-8XR, and Atlas, have been integral to productions ranging from Bond film scores (“No Time to Die”) and Oscar-winning soundtracks (“Gravity”) to cinematic post-production (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy) and Grammy-winning albums by Pink Floyd, Mark Knopfler, and Adele. This pedigree immediately captivated Wang Chao and Jin Ying.

The DREAM-ADA particularly impressed Jin Ying with its massive 20 expansion slots housed in a space-saving 2U chassis, supporting (over) 128 analogue channels and (over) 512 digital channels at 192kHz while enabling immersive audio workflows such as Dolby Atmos.
Key features include quad independent clocking for multi-system synchronization, intuitive modular routing, and browser-based remote monitoring. Its dynamic headroom and pinpoint accuracy delivered a transformative listening experience.
After rigorous A/B testing, Jin Ying stated: “For the first time, I could clearly distinguish micro-details, spatial imaging, and timbral subtleties lost on other converters. The analogue gain staging is rock-solid—no more clipping fears.”

In SSGY’s signal chain, two DREAM-ADA units interface seamlessly with the Harrison console, providing 80 analog I/O, 48 AES channels, and 128 channels each of DigiLink, Dante, and MADI connectivity. This integrates the console with extensive analog outboard gear and a 7.1.4 immersive monitoring system, creating a powerhouse audio ecosystem.
Their first project using this setup, mixing the theme song for Tsui Hark’s film “The Condor Heroes: The Great Hero” yielded spectacular results. Subsequent recordings with their signed artists further highlighted the synergy between DREAM-ADA’s forensic detail retrieval and Harrison’s legendary “air and punch,” producing recordings of unprecedented fidelity. This state-of-the-art infrastructure continues to fuel SSGY’s creative momentum, ensuring a steady stream of exceptional musical output.
